By incorporating a volume-up sole, the total heel height, including the insole, increases to 5.5cm.

The unique EVA sole was developed after over a year of trial and error.
By blending rubber and EVA, we repeatedly conducted prototypes to achieve the softness of rubber while leveraging the lightness of EVA.
It offers a soft, enveloping feel, as if walking on marshmallows.
This is a meticulously crafted pair that balances contradictory elements: the formality of leather shoes and the comfort of marshmallows.

Leather shoes can be heavy to pack, but you want sneakers that look like leather shoes and can be worn in formal settings. This pair solves that dilemma.

The surface leather itself is coated, upgrading the specifications to allow wear even in light rain (Note: While this product has a coated leather, it is not waterproof).
We collaborated with a highly skilled Japanese tanner (leather producer) to develop leather that can be worn with peace of mind every day and is easy to clean.
This is a partner pair for daily wear and travel alike.
~ The Commitment to Invisible Details That Creates Comfort ~
brightway shoes are characterized by a "soft, gentle embrace" the moment you put them on, and a firm heel hold.
The secret lies in the genuine leather counter used in the heel.
While many sneakers use resin or plastic materials, brightway uses genuine leather for all its models.
This core material is repurposed from the lowest layer of cowhide, which would normally be discarded.
Because it is rare, costly, and requires time and skill to manufacture, only a few factories in Japan can use it.
This traditional manufacturing method, carefully crafted over time, ensures a comfortable fit that molds to your foot with wear, preventing blisters.

Upholding the philosophy cherished by its founder, brightway continues to honestly craft shoes today.
~ All Parts Replaceable. Repair Service for Long-Lasting Love ~
All parts of brightway sneakers are repairable and replaceable.

Particularly noteworthy is the availability of sole replacement, which is rare for sneakers.
While many high-priced sneakers do not support replacement of their original soles, brightway can restore them to like-new condition.
In addition, many major parts, including the cup insole, are replaceable.
This system is only possible because all manufacturing processes are completed in Japan, and our in-house craftsmen carefully produce each pair.

~ Domestic Materials and Local Manufacturing ~
brightway is made by us, International Shoes Inc., a leather shoe manufacturer in Osaka.
The founder was Yoshikazu Ueda.
In 1954, our shoemaking began in a small workshop with two people.
For over half a century since then, we have supported the shoemaking of many women's shoe brands both domestically and internationally.
What we have cherished since our founding is "to honestly make good shoes."
Even after half a century, we still value carefully crafting shoes that can be loved for a long time.
Moreover, at brightway, we procure materials produced in Japan from producers we know personally, whenever possible.
Before starting any manufacturing, we always visit the producers to hear their aspirations, share our vision, and then collaboratively create, which is something we value greatly.

The reason brightway is committed to domestic materials
is our desire to once again deliver Japan's shoemaking culture and technology to the world.
Japan has a history of thoughtfulness, meticulous craftsmanship, and community-rooted manufacturing.
We actively use materials made in Japan to preserve these values and convey them accurately.
While many factories shifted production overseas, brightway chose to continue shoemaking here in Osaka.
This is to pass on the techniques and spirit that our predecessors protected to the next generation.
Just like in Europe, where the philosophy and skills of craftsmen are passed from parent to child—
we aim to build such an ideal manufacturing haven in Japan as well.
To create a pair that will be loved 10 years from now, and to be a brand that can be proud 100 years from now.
Today, brightway continues to sincerely dedicate itself to shoemaking.
